Biography
Tenor Chad Berlinghieri was a house favorite with the former Opera Pacific, performing a variety of roles over multiple seasons including Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni and Howard Boucher in Dead Man Walking, and covering Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Laurie in Little Women, and Tamino in The Magic Flute.
In the lighter tenor repertoire with Opera Pacific, he performed Borsa in Rigoletto, Remendado in Carmen, Pedrillo in Abduction from the Seraglio,Triquet in Eugene Onegin, Ruiz in Il Trovatore, Malcom in Macbeth,Gastone in La Traviata, Borsa in Rigoletto, 2nd Jew in Salome, 1st priest in The Magic Flute, andElder Hayes in Susannah. In addition, he has enjoyed much success with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl under the baton of Maestro Mauceri, most recently performing Pong in Turandot and Gastone in La Traviata.
In the 2008-2009 season, he performed Pong in Turandot with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, Gastone in La Traviata at Opera Coeur d'Alene, Mozart’s Requiem with the Coeur d'Alene Symphony and Alfredo in La Traviata in Pasadena. In the 2009-2010 season, he returned to Coeur d’Alene as Ramiro in La Cenerentola, made his Opera Santa Barbara and Fresno Grand Opera debut as Malcolm in Macbeth, and made his Opera New Jersey debut as Remendado in Carmen, a production which also toured to Baltimore.
Additional recent engagements include Tamino in The Magic Flute with Pacific Symphony, Alfredo in La Traviata with Intimate Opera, Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance and Borsa in Rigoletto with the Dayton Opera, Laurie in Little Women and Remendado in Carmen with Ash Lawn Highland Opera, The Roasted Swan in Carmina Burana with the Riverside Philharmonic and The South Coast Symphony, Uriel in Haydn’s Creation with James Paul conducting at Dayton Philharmonic, Nemorino in Opera Pacific’s Opera in the Raw production of Elixir of Love, Remendado in Carmen with Bay Shore Lyric Opera, Prince of Persia in Turandot with San Diego Opera, and Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Sivilgia with Round Top Opera.
