Anne Jennifer Nash is attracting attention among regional American opera companies as an exceptional young lyric soprano with an uncommon beauty of expression and musicianship. This summer, she made her debut with the Bard Festival as Laurie in their production of The Tender Land by Aaron Copland, of which Anthony Tommasini, writing for the New York Times, reported that “ The ardent young soprano Anne Jennifer Nash vividly captures Laurie's sensual yearnings.”
Recent engagements include her debut with the Opera Company of Philadelphia as Barbarina in their production of Le Nozze di Figaro, debuts with the Florentine Opera Company and the New Jersey Opera Theater as Zerlina in Don Giovanni, appearances as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte for the Lancaster Opera Company and the New Jersey Opera Theatre, Lake George Opera in the title role of Little Red’s Most Unusual Day, the National Opera Company in The Rake’s Progress as Anne Trulove and in Così fan tutte as Despina.
On the concert stage, she has performed with the Harrisburg Choral Society as soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Mass in C-Major and Haydn’s Creation, the Mainline Philomusica for Charles Stanford’s Blue Bird, the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle for Grieg’s Peer Gynt, and at Dickinson College for Vaughan William’s Serenade To Music. She has also appeared in recital at the Alden Theatre, McLean, Virginia, Harris Hall in Aspen, Colorado, The Kennedy Center, and the Peabody Conservatory.
She is the recipient of fellowships for advanced studies from Middlebury College, Centro Studi Italiani (where she sang Lisette in La Rondine), the Aspen Music Festival (for whom she performed Mirium in their production of The Golem), where she was the Winner of the Aspen Music Festival Voice Competition and was also Winner of the Rising Star Recital Series Competition.
Ms. Nash holds a Master of Music with a major in Voice and a Graduate Performance Diploma in Opera from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, where she appeared in several productions, most notably as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro.
