Dana Pundt is attracting attention as a young singer with a distinct and intense stage personality who captivates audiences in any role she sings. She is a recent graduate of the Young Artists Program of the Seattle Opera and former apprentice artist at Des Moines Metro Opera and at the Glimmerglass Festival. Dana returned to Seattle to perform Anna Gomez in The Consul and will return this season to sing the title role in Handel’s Semele. This past summer, she returned to Des Moines as Ivette in La Rondine. Elsewhere, she has earned acclaim as the Queen of the Night in The MagicFlute with Opera Iowa and for West Bay Opera.
A native of Texas, Ms. Pundt holds B.M. and M.M. degrees from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and participant in young artists’ programs with the Glimmerglass Festival, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Seattle Opera. She has won awards from the Corbett Foundation, the Young Artist Competition of Opera East Texas, the Bel Canto Competition, Metropolitan National Council, Fort Worth Opera Competition, and Lois Alba Opera Competition.
